Carol's Thanksgiving Cards

Carol loves...luvs...luvs fall...and so do I...a little early for Thanksgiving cards but Carol wanted to use this set before it retired today...yes sirrrreeee...today is the last day to order any of the retired sets from the soon-to-be old catty...BooHoo...Did anybody get there demo copy yet???...I am still patiently waiting...thought it would come today but no such luck...where is it?

For both of these cards Carol used Always on my mind and All Year Cheer 3 stamp sets...Assorted coloured pencils and Chocolate Chip ink pad.

This card used Elegant Eggplant, Old Olive, and Whisper White card stocks...Only Orange Brads were used to hold the whisper white card stock to the old olive card stock...both the whisper white and old olive card stock was torn on the bottom edges...the colours of the card stock give this card a very rich look.

This card added the Canvas background stamp to give it a soft dimensional look...Very Vanilla, So Saffron, Bordering Blue, and Almost Amethyst card stocks was used...both the bordering blue and almost amethyst were torn on the side edges...Natural Hemp Twine was wrapped around the card and knotted to finish it of.

Both cards are very quick and easy to do and took less than forty-five minutes to finish them both...even though the same stamp sets were used to make these cards...they both still have very different looks...no matter which you send out...the recipient will love it.

By the sea...the beautiful sea

When I look at Seaside Sketches...I think of what it would be like by the sea...but there is so many possibilities for different cards...memory pages...or gifts that can be made with it. So ...so sad that this set is going to be retired in a couple of days...I will still use it for many cards and projects...all cards use Seaside Sketches and the Cheesecloth background stamps.

This card is a father and son enjoying a special moment together...you can almost hear them talking with each other.
The Notched Corner Punch was used on the taken with teal card stock....Very Vanilla, Tempting Turquoise, and Taken with Teal are the card stock used...Close to Cocoa and Tempting Turquoise ink pads...Mellow Moss, Close to Cocoa, Creamy Caramel, Tempting Turquoise, and Almost Amethyst stampin' write markers...all supplies are from Stampin' up...the teal ribbon was purchased at AC Moore and the tag was cut out free hand.

This little girl I've named Grace...she seems so sweet and I believe she's looking for sea shells on a very windy day...can't you just feel that wind blowing through your hair.
Stamp set added to this card was Graceful Words, which is retired...Card stock used was Very Vanilla and Sage Shadow...Creamy Caramel, Close to Cocoa, Sage Shadow, and Blush Blossom stampin' write markers...The Notched Corner Punch was used on the sage shadow card stock and the Stampin' Dimensionals was used to raise the oval card stock...the circle was cut out free hand...Sage Shadow and Close to Cocoa ink pads were used...the string was pulled across the Sage Shadow ink pad...all supplies are from Stampin' Up...String can be purchased in a roll at home depot that will last forever, there is so much on the roll...LOL.

This young lady is getting her feet wet...I can feel the water between my toes...oooooh!...sooooooo cold....she is watching the seagulls in the distance...Almost Amethyst, Lovely Lilac, Pretty in Pink, and Pixie Pink card stocks was used...the Notched Corner Punch was used on the pretty in pink card stock...Creamy Caramel, Blush Blossom, Almost Amethyst, and Lavender Lace stampin' write markers...Ivory organdy ribbon was pulled across the Lavender Lace ink pad to give it colour...all supplies are from Stampin' Up...The letter "B" is from Sizzix uppercase...the Crystal Stickles that form the foam on the waves was purchased at AC Moore...and Just a Notes stamp is from Endless Creations.

Here Kitty...Kitty...Kitty

Here is a cute card for all you cat lovers...it is simple but so...so sweet...and easy too...I don't remember who sent me this card as a gift...but I always keep it out in my craft room and look at it daily...thinking one of these days I'm going to do one with dogs...it is done with black and white card stocks...and the background is sponged with a green and light gold or brownish ink...it looks like the hardest part of the card was cutting out the cats that are in the raised portion of the card...especially around the tails...The card measures 8 1/2 x 3 1/2.

Kristi's Challenge

I sent Kristi some small clear boxes and challenged her to see what idea's she could come up with and she sent me not one...or two...but three great ideas...she also made me a cute little thank you card made with googly eyes...Kristi did it in Black and white...if you changed the colours around a little it would make a great halloween card...Thank You Kristi...you did a great job.

For all the boxes Kristi made a little box from cardstock to fit inside...The first box is filled with burgandy potpourri and is done in a cream card stock and the tag is made with a cream and burgandy card stock...and says "for you"...the little handle on top is tied with cream ribbon and gold cording.

The second box is very! very! cute and is for a baby gift...pink card stock is used for the little box inside...the tag uses pink and white card stock...and says "100% pure Baby" and has the letter "B"...inside the box is shredded card stock in pink and white, and the cutest little hair bands for baby...there is also some little bands that I believe is to hold baby's pacifier, so they don't get lost...and the little handle on top has pink and white grosgrain ribbons tied to it.

The third box is a very clever idea...the little box inside is made with orange card stock...it is filled with lots of colourful balloons...this is used as an invitation to a water balloon party...how cute is that...the invite is printed on white card stock that is taped to a green card stock that have water drops stamped onto it...the little handle has an assortment of colourful grosgrain ribbons that have been slightly shredded in lite yellow, purple, and green.

I want to thank you again Kristi for the wonderful job you did with the challenge...which gave us more great ideas.

A Light Heart Altered Box

This was a fun project...the hardest part of it was cutting out all those hearts...The stamp set used on this project was A Light Heart which has been retired, but is a great set to work with...Ink Pads used were Basic Black, True Thyme, Cranberry Crisp, and Marigold Morning...I love these colours and will continue to use them even though that entire "In Colour" set is retiring to make room for a new set of in colours...the card stock I used was Marigold Morning, True Thyme, Mellow Moss, and Whisper White..all supplies used is from Stampin' Up...the little red heart brad was purchased from AC Moore...As you can see this box didn't take a lot of supplies and only one stamp set...and as I said before the hardest part of this entire project was cutting out all those hearts after I stamped them...there was no colouring involved...I love altering boxes...and you can bet this won't be the last one you see here.

Tsune and Titi's Memory Album

Carol and I didn't finish any of the many stampin' projects we have in the works...a couple of times we were sidetracked or just chatting too much...LOL...but I did want to share this with everyone since I now have the time too ...and it's a very special project...I love it...and hope you will too.

My daughters in-laws took so much time and thought in putting together this memory album...I had to share it with everyone...it has made me want to do more work on my memory albums...and this beautiful album puts me to shame...because it was Sanae's first attempt at putting something like this together...and I must say...she did a beautiful job...and I hope everyone agrees with me on that...I'm sure you will when you see the rest of it.

So I thought I would share this wonderful scrapbook that was made for my daughter, Titi and her husband, Tsune by his cousin Sanae who lives in Japan...the album was welcoming Titi to the family...and as you can see a lot of thought and love went into putting it together.

I didn't take pics of every page...but I think I should have...you wouldn't have been bored at all... but the album was absolutely gorgeous and very! very! special...what a beautiful gift to have received...if I get a chance this weekend, maybe I will take a couple more pics of the pages to share.

I don't know the name of any of the supplies used since this memory album was made in Japan and the supplies purchased there also...but check it out and see what I mean when I say this was a very special gift.

By the way...this was the first attempt of this very talented artist to do a memory album...Sanae what a beautiful! beautiful job...all I can say is WOW...and double WOW.

Even though we don't know the supplies that was used it would be very easy to recreate a memory album like this and customize it to your specific needs...something like this is one of a kind anyway...that is what makes it so special and so beautiful.

I hope Sanae has inspired everyone to create something special today or in the coming days...I know that I am Inspired and going to get right to creating something special and hope my memory album is half as wonderful...and as beautiful as Sanae's.

Thank You Sanae for making this for my daughter and Tsune...and giving her such a loving and warm welcome into your family...we are all touched to now being one family...and I look forward to coming to Japan and meeting everyone soon.

Thanks everyone for stopping by today and sharing this with me...have a stampin' good day.

Beverley's Stampin' Good Time Studio...

I decided today since I organized my stampin' studio that I would post a couple of photos...not a dramatic change...but gives me a little more room for myself to work...There is my desk where I work...my accessories, supplies, and stamp area...and the sizzix work area...the last picture is where we have classes...I am going to try and get Carol to give me some pics of her work area and I will post them as soon as I can.

She did give me some of her finished stamped projects, so I will post those very soon.
