Happy Birthday Mom

Today would have been my mom's birthday...I can't ever remember it falling on Good Friday...she would have felt very special today...because I made her two cards this morning...and I love how they both turned out.

My happy recipe:

Stamp sets: warmest regards(retired).
*****
Card stock: clear acrylic sheets from Short Cuts...Bella Rose DSP...old olive...chocolate chip...pretty in pink...and cream printer paper.
*****
Inks: chocolate chip.
*****
Punches: cuttlebug flower circle...ticket corner...and 1 3/8" circle.
*****
Additional supplies: BIG shot...snail adhesive...1/2" foam mounting tape...bone folder...and soft moss sheer dots ribbon from Michael's.
*****

All supplies from Stampin' Up unless otherwise noted.

I was so happy that I was able to use my printer paper inside these clear sheets...it worked out very well...I used my ticket corner punch and added my Birthday sentiment.

I hope you can see the clear acrylic...I did make sure that I washed my hands very well before starting to work with the sheets...I also used a lint free cloth to wipe the card when it was completed...it did help cut down on the static...and I didn't have any finger prints on my sheets.

To Everything

Surprise...this is my second card I made this morning...and this one turned out very nice as well if I may say so...(pat...pat...pat on the back)...LOL...the frosted sheets are easier to work with as far as finger prints...they don't leave any...and as for the static...I wiped the sheet off before and after working with it using a lint free cloth...I love these sheets fro Short Cuts and plan on using them more often...also customer service at Short Cuts is the best...I used my score-it board to score the sheets and it worked just as well as on regular card stock or paper...I then used my bone folder to push down on the crease...it doesn't flatten all the way like card stock...but I like that.

This is the recipe:

Card stock: Amazing Grace Scripture Notes paper and Amazing Grace Guardian Angels card stock stickers both from Flair Designs...frosted acrylic sheets from Short Cuts...Pattern Paper Pack more mustard and not quite navy DSP...cream printer paper...real red...and not quite navy.
*****
Punches: ticket corner...ribbon stitch...and 2 1/4" scallop edge square.
*****
Additional supplies: old gold ribbon from Simply Sheer...snail adhesive...crystal effects...The Robin's Nest Sunflower dew drops...fiskar cutter...score-it board...and sakura clear star glitter pen.
*****
All supplies from stampin' up unless otherwise noted.

Inside the card I was also able to use my printer paper...I used the ticket corner punch...and for the square I used the 2 1/4' scallop punch.

My mom would have thought she was special getting two beautiful cards today if she was here...and I would have told her...beautiful cards for a beautiful lady...Happy Birthday Mom...and Happy Easter in heaven...we still miss you very much and will always love you.

Thank you all for stopping in this beautiful morning...have a nice Good Friday... and a wonderful Easter...enjoy the morning and I hope you have a stampin' good day...thank you.

Sweet Birthday

So many times I've said to my stampin' ladies...not to add glue...glitter or anything that needs drying time till you've completed your card and after putting it down...don't handle it until it's completely dry...WELL!...I didn't follow my own advice and nearly destroyed this card...Luckily I was able to fix it...where the heart is was suppose to be another dot of the pesto dimensional paint...but after accidentally rubbing my hand on it...caused a real mess...I was able to remove the green birthday paper and add this blue one which I like a lot better anyway...I couldn't find another piece of birthday green big enough...so from now on...I better listen to my own advice...LOL.

I also love this Pesto green dimensional paint...note to self...check out the other colours that are available...I also like my new Distress Stickles from The Tim Holtz Collection...I used the worn lipstick for the frosting on the cupcake...they seem to be more chunky and not too glittery as the regular stickles...love these too.

This is the recipe:

Stamp sets: cupcake by Amy Smith for Inkadinkado...sweet birthday from Savvy Stamps.
*****
Card stock: old olive...whisper white...assorted scraps...and white printer paper.
*****
Inks: basic brown.
*****
Markers: assorted stampin' write.
*****
Punches: cuttle bug Swiss dots...1/16" hand held circle...and ribbon stitch.
*****
Additional supplies: BIG shot machine...snail adhesive...stampin' dimensionals...sticky strip...fiskar cutter...score-it board...old olive grosgrain ribbon...gold brads...stickles yellow and...distress worn lipstick glitter glue...pesto dimensional pearls from Adirondack...and sakura clear star glitter pen.

All supplies from stampin' up unless otherwise noted.

Thank you for stopping in this morning and sharing my card...I have another project that I'm working on today...so I better get crackin'...enjoy the morning...and have a stampin' good day.

Altered Just A Note Clipboards

These are the adorable clipboards we altered in my workshop Friday evening...to make everything go quickly make a template first...my favorite part of the project was those adorable chunky pens and the beautiful soft moss polka dot ribbon...I gave everyone who attended the workshop a roll of the ribbon to take home...these rolls had a whopping 25 yards of ribbon on it...they will be using that ribbon in projects for ever...LOL...these will make wonderful gifts and I plan on making a couple more.
*****
This is the recipe:
Stamp sets: mini mates(retired)... just a note by Endless Creations...and sprinkles.
*****
Card stock: afternoon tea DSP(retired)...white printer paper...and cream envelopes from staples.
*****
Inks: wild wasabi...groovy guava...and soft sky are all retired.
*****
Punches: BIGZ top note die...rounded tab...and designer label.
*****
Additional supplies: snail adhesive...sticky strip...offray leaf grosgrain ribbon from Joannes...sheer soft moss polka dot ribbon from Michael's...pink post-it note, clip board and cream envelopes from Staples... chunky pens and green mix mini discs from Michael's...crystal effects...decor elements Flower chocolate chip...and magnets from Alders.

I added strong magnets to the back of the boards to make the hold extra strong...no slipping or sliding off the fridge or locker with these babies.

My top note die made beautiful scrap paper to write quick messages...but I think they are just too cute for scrap.
*****

Now tell me you don't think these chunky pens are just too stinkin' cute....they're fat on the bottom...skinny on top...with a round ball clicker on top...toooooo cute.

The top of the printer papers are stamped with the sentiment "Just a note"...

...and the corners of the paper is stamped with little flowers...I'm telling you...you will have a hard time using them for scrap.

All the notes are held in a pocket using an envelope.

Here are those cute pens again...they are being held onto the clipboard using sheer ribbon...but Heidi did come up with the idea to hold them onto the clipboard...using the clip and the top of the board as you can see below...way to go Heidi...I didn't think it would fit...LOL...but it works perfectly.

Thank you so much for stopping in this evening and sharing my project...try making a couple of these for yourself...they're so much fun...I hope you all have a stampin' good night.
