Carol's Striped Journal

This is the adorable journal Carol made to share with us today...it's so bright and colourful...really cheers you up...is it a reminder that she's wishin' and hopin' for Spring...a great gift idea.

I love how she used her punch to make this flower.

The leaves are made from the wings of the two step bird punch...very cute.

I can't ignore the yummy ribbon that is decorating the spine of the journal.

Thanks Carol for sharing this fabulous journal with us today...also thanks everyone for dropping by this morning...I hope you all have a great day and a stampin' good time.

Karen's Journal Gift Set-2

This is the rest of the pics from Karen's Journal...I made it for a coworker to give to a close friend that had just found out she had breast cancer...she was going to embark on a journey of chemo and lots of drugs...but she wasn't alone...and they wanted something to give her that would show her that...in addition to the journal...I added a couple more items...let's start with the card.

The sentiment says "you mean the whirl to me".

The card is made with the small pinwheel die...that I absolutely love.

Here is the cover of the journal...I love the mini pinwheel...and that used the mini pinwheel die.

The first two pages of the journal were stamped with pink hearts...and these will be the pages that all of Karen's close friends and family will write a message for her.

I made these clothespin note holders and they also double as a book mark...one is just a glass dome with a flower in it...the other is just scarp paper stamped with Just A Note...covered with crystal effects...and then glued to the clothespin.

I really adore this idea of the glassine envelope inside the cover of the journal with my business card...I added a foamie pink ribbon and her initial and some twine to decorate the glassine envie.

My business card also has a calendar on the back of it.

I love that I was able to add a lot of tabs to the journal.

Here is the entire gift collection together...the journal, clothespin note holder, and card...they are ready to be gift wrapped and given to Karen.

Thanks so much everyone for droppin' by this morning and sharing the rest of Karen's Journal with me...I'm so pleased as to how this turned out and I later found out she loved it and it bought her to tears...I'm so happy that she liked it...the ladies that gave it to her was very happy with it also.
I hope everyone is having a great weekend and a stampin' good time...as for me I better get back to bed...going to take more medicine...have a cup of tea and just rest...I hope to feel better real soon...I have lots more to share.

Karen's Journal Gift Set-1

A coworker asked me if I could make her a special journal for a friend that was just diagnosed with breast cancer...the journal would be given to her from a bunch of close friends...and they would all be signing the first two pages and also writing their thoughts on what Karen means to each of them...this was to be the start of her journal...and here is what I came up with...of course I'm way behind on posting and this was made last year...I'm very happy to be able to share the first half of it today with you.

The pages all have a lot of different quotes...the very first one is reminding her to think Positive...each one has been chalked around the edges with stampin' pastels.

I also stamped her initial on some of the pages in the center of each flower...the flower was already there...so it made this quick and easy to do.

On other pages I stamped a just a note.

Here is the cute initial book marker I made with some pretty ribbon.

Even the last page of the journal has a reminder that she is loved.

This is the long recipe:

Stamp sets: just a note sentiments...Hope Is...sprinkles...whimsical alphas uppers...pin wheel sentiment...online sentiments.
*****
Card stock: old olive...pretty in pink...pixie pink...patterns pack DSP...and chip board "K".
*****
Ink: pink pirouette...pixie pink...pretty in pink...old olive...and glorious green.
*****
Chalk: stampin' pastels.
*****
Punches: large oval...word window...1 1/4 and scallop circles...decorative label...rounded tab...spiral binding...sizzix lower case dies...small and mini pinwheels die...and swiss dots folder.
*****
Additional supplies: Pink and Moss Green Journal...clothes pins...glass domes...green staples...silver brads...honeydew bakers twine...pink ribbon foamies...pink ribbons...lollipop sticks...big shot...fiskar...score-it...snail...s/u mini glue dots...sticky strip...and crystal effects.

This is one of my favorite stamps...it says "when you care enough...you make it yourself".
Thanks so much for dropping by today and sharing the first half of this journal with me...I will have more to share tomorrow...I hope you all are having a great weekend...and a stampin' good time.

Miho's Just A Note Journal

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month...please remember to get your mammogram or do a self breast exam.
This is the fabulous pink and moss journal I altered for my daughters sister-in-law who is visiting with us from Japan this month...I must say I absolutely love it...pat! pat!...pat!...lol.

The front has pink chipboard flowers... I sizzixed the first letter of her name in old olive and added it to the center of the flowers...I chalked all the letters to give it a shabby look.

Inside I added this glassine envelope with next years calendar on the back...the front is my business card...of course I had to add some bling.

Here is a better look at the calendar and I used my punch to extend it so it would be easy to reach.

Each of the pages has her initial.

Plenty of tabs to separate the pages...each tab has different designs on them and is in soft coordinating colours.

This page has the just a note sentiment.

Another style of the just a note sentiment on some pages.

Still another style of the just a note sentiment on some of the pages.

On some of the pages I went with a please write sentiment.

I added this ring...and covered it with a pink and cream string...she can use it to mark her pages.

This was an absolutely fun project...it took me a while to complete it...but the look on Miho's face was totally worth all the effort I put into it...I know she will use it and treasure it for many years to come.

Think Pink Challenge

Just a Note with BLING

I put this journal together pretty quickly since I had to give it as a gift...I kept it simple and the soft yellow brings out the beautiful shade of blue even more.

A few round and round scallop punches for my just a note sentiment.

I love the ribbons...the blue ribbon is so soft to the touch and the yellow ribbon has some thin wiring...but it's very sheer.

Thanks for stoppin' by this morning and checking out my quick altered journal...enjoy the rest of the day...and I hope everyone has a stampin' good time.

Carol's Just a Note

I am thrilled that Carol had this project to share with us today...she altered a journal.

I love all the different colours of yummy ribbons she used.

Here she has her sentiment "just a note" in scallop and small ovals.

Don't you just love this bird house...it's sitting on a bunch of small branches.

To finish this project she had her favorite stamp on the back of the journal.

Thank you Carol for sharing this project with us this morning...I loved the bright colours against the dark blue and white background...thanks everyone for droppin' by this morning and sharing Carol's project with us...enjoy the rest of the weekend...and I hope you all have a stampin' good time.
