1980...A Scrapbook Page

It has been forever since I worked on a scrapbook page...I've almost forgotten how much fun it can be...it was great to combine the card sketch with the page...I had to think for a while...but I love the way I was able to get it to work...I will try it again with a couple of my favorite sketches. 

 

 

 

 

I absolutely love this sheer polka dot ribbon...it's so soft...I was very happy to have been able to use it in my layout today.when you really like something you don't want to use it up...so it sits in a draw looking pretty...I want to start using up all my pretty stash...

 

 

 

Here is the recipe:

 

Stamp set: simple serif numbers.

Card stock: pretty in pink...blushing bride...black...rose red...old olive...and dashing.

Ink: rose red.

*****

Punches: 1/16" hand held circle...rounded tab...small and large rectangle...and scalloped photo corners.

Additional supplies: green and pink polka dot bright brads...green staples...soft moss sheer polka dot ribbon...s/u mini glue dots...snail...and fiskar.

National Scrapbooking Day 2014-My Layout

Yesterday was National Scrapbooking Day...I made a couple of simple layouts...but forgot to post them and then fell asleep...so I'm posting them this morning... I did my layout for my brother who just recently passed away this year...Dennis always thought he was never in any family photos...but he'd be surprised as to actually how many pics he was in...I'm totally thrilled...because now I have lots of pics for layouts with him in them.

 

 

 

I did these first couple of pages in the layout using his favorite Amazing Grace Hymn...and some musical notes DSP...I used strips of the paper to separate the layout...and as background to his picture.

 

 

 

 

Here in this layout I have his obituary from the local newspaper and a prayer card...I've left plenty of room for some journaling...and maybe another pic.
 

 

 

This page I really love...my daughter made a disc with all his favorite music...and I added a pocket to the layout to insert the disc in...Dennis loved the praying hands...it meant a lot to him...so I've added a pic of that to this page also...again I've left plenty of room for some journaling.

I'm totally Scrapped out...

I spent the weekend finally putting some of the pictures together from my daughters year in Japan...it will probably take me a year to complete it...lol...I still have to go back and do some embellishing and journalling...but it feels great to have started it.

I did 30 double sided scrapbook pages today...I just have to embellish them now.

I have about 1500 more pictures in this box to still scrap.

Snow Fun in Japan...a double layout

 I'm so happy to be working on some of my layouts...and do I have a lot of them to work on...I think it's going to be an all year project for me...lol.

When I asked my daughter why my Grands weren't wearing gloves...she said " Rebals Don't Wear Gloves"...I guess she meant they wouldn't put them on...lol...or had them on...but took them off...I love the mitten diecut...it was absolutely perfect for this page.

I didn't get a good pic of the Hexie on the bottom of the page...but it says "let it snow"...I'm addicted to Hexagons...my new favs.

My Little Arima is all bundle up for a day on the slopes with her family...Papa might just have another skier in the family...lol.

A Snow Fun Journal Card to write down some sentiments of the day.

I love this pic of my beautiful Grands and their Papa in the early morning looking through the window of the lodge at the lifts on the slopes going up and down...in my stash I also had that lift ticket to add to the layout.

My Little Arima...sure does melt my heart in this pic...I love that cute little hat she has on.

This picture of my daughter going down the mountain makes me laugh...Boy! she sure does look scared...lol...maybe not too scared.

This is my easy recipe:

I just had to get a closer shot of my fav pic in this layout...and you also get a better look at the diecut ski lift ticket.

Open Chevron Christmas 2012 in Japan

I have lots of scrappin' layouts to do...so the sooner I get started on them the better...this single layout is of my Grand Childrens visits to different trees in Japan...all the trees were so beautifully decorated...if you look closely at the layout...the top chevron is the opposite of the bottom chevron...this open chevron is perfect for double sided papers.

I had some beautiful double sided DSP and decided to use it for my layout...it worked great with the open chevron design...this layout was very easy to do...I took longer trying to decide what pics to use in the layout.

Here you can see the ornaments that I layered using the DSP and plain dark green card stock...using the ornaments die set...this is wonderful...no more cutting these differcult ornaments by hand...and chop!...chop!...I get it done quickly...I love the touch of the gold cording that works very well with the gold in the trees.

Card stock: Joys of the season trimmings DSP...and assorted scraps.

Punches: framelits holiday ornaments die...and sizzix fun serif numbers die.

Additional supplies: snail adhesive...S/U mini glue dots...BIG shot...and gold cording.

 Wow!...Wee!...it is very windy and cold here this morning...Had my cup of coffee earlier...but also have had two cups of hot tea...Brrrrrr!...when it's windy outside...inside my house is even colder...I bought some pretty silk scarves over the holidays to wear in the house around my neck when it gets cold like this...gee it makes me feel fancy...LOL!...Thanks for stoppin' by this morning and looking at my layout...I need to do a few of the layouts a week to catch up on my scrappin'...have a great day everyone...stay warm...and I hope you all have a stampin' good time.

A Scrappin' Good Time Layouts-2

 This is the inspiration bonus pages I had for the ladies this month...it coordinated very nicely with the mushroom DSP...it is a soft peachy colour polka dot DSP...even though it looks orange here...I really need to get a better camera...lol.

Don't you just love the chipboard shapes...I used lots of chipboard's in these layouts too...and they work beautifully.

Here are some more chipboard's that I used...these were fun words and sentiments...which I will journal later on.

 I love this page because I like the look of the center pic which is raised with stampin' dimensionals above the rest of the pics...some of the journalling shapes I used brads and attached them to the page.

You can see that I used the polka dot DSP on the plain peach card stock so that it would coordinate with the full size sheet of DSP...I love it.

 This is the DSP we used in class...plain peach with a little bit of texture , mushrooms that are raised and have a shiny gloss to it, and polka dot card stocks...the ladies got to take home these extra sheets to finish up their pages.

A Scrappin' Good Time Layouts-1

 I almost forgot to post the layouts we did last week in class...this was a fun DSP print...and colourful too but not too bright...if you look closely you can see that they are mushrooms...I was very happy that my Scrappin' ladies loved the print...it's not easy picking out a print that everyone will love...but this was a hit...Here is my double layout..."Just the Three of Us"...and "Ouch".

I used lots of chipboard and punched shapes in my layouts...these are great for my journalling later.

 Here is one of Carol's layout pages...she also used chipboard alphabet letters on her page...this is a beautiful layout.

 Here is one of Yvonne's Layout with her family...she used lots of alphabet stickers...coordinating papers...and flowers...this too is a very lovely layout.

Aurora, Colorado...and A May Layout with Pockets

I am sadden that the words of Rodney King has fallen on deaf ears "Please can't we all just get along"...my heartfelt sympathy and prayers go out to the injured...the families and the people of Aurora, Colorado...may God wrap his loving arms around you at your time of need.


This is my second page scrappin' inspiration layout for May...I'm doing some catch up her on some things that I seem to have forgotten about...but it makes it fun to look at them again...this page coordinates with the Hiroshima layout.

This page uses lots of pockets for additional photos and I used my punches to make the shapes for my sentiments...the glassine envies are my favorite embellishments...their clear so that you can see whats inside them...LUV! them.

 I absolutely love this photo of  of my grand daughter playing with a wooden push toy that was her fathers when he was a little boy about her age...this is priceless...I think my fav pic of all...lol.

Thanks so much for droppin' by this wonderfully cool morning...I'm definitely going to enjoy it...I hear the heat and humidity is suppose to return next week...UGH!..enjoy the rest of this fabulous morning...and I sure hope you all have a stampin' good time.

Hiroshima Layout

Some how I didn't post this layout...it is the first inspiration page for the ladies in my scrappin' group for May...Yeppers...it's two months old...lol...this is my Hiroshima page...don't you love those funky letters...lol...I think they look great with my layout...I was glad they worked so perfectly.

 Below I added tabs...bakers twine...and DSP to some extra pics that needed to be seen...but not necessarily needed to be on the page...so I put them in this pocket...the pics can be taken out and looked at then returned to the pocket.

 I also had some smaller pockets on the page to tuck my journalling into.

I also love the chipboard alphas that I added to the layout.

WOW!...what a change in this weather...but I'm not going to complain...I'm going to enjoy the coolness while I can...I'm sure next week that heat and humidity will be back...thanks so much for stopping by this morning...enjoy the rest of the day...and I hope you all have a stampin' good time.

Beverley's Double Family Page Layout-2

This is the final layout from our scrappin' class...and it's mine...it's an inspiration page that I hope would get my ladies creative juices flowing...and from all the beautiful work they did...I think it helped...at least I hope so.

 I used lots of banners and pennants on my page...I even used large pennants from the Perfect Pennants Die to use for my journalling...you can see it below.

 These are a couple of my fav pics of  Obaasan (Japanese Grandma), holding our grand-daughter...and Ojjisan (Japanese grandpa) riding the tractor on the farm with our grandson...I used DSP to back each of the pics and pretty pennants are hanging from them too...this was such a fun layout to play with...I had lots of fun putting it together.

Well it's another hot one here...I'm already sweating...I hope you guys are a little cooler...thanks so much for droppin' by this morning...I hope you all had fun the last couple of days with our layout pages...enjoy the rest of your day...and I hope you all have a stampin' good time.

Beverley's Double Family Page Layout-1

 Hello everyone...I've shared my stampin' ladies pages this week...and now it's time to share with you the pages I did to give them their inspiration...so it's me that's up today...below is the entire first page of my double layout...I used two rows of the banners to separate my pics...lots of pennants are used...even for the journalling.

Here I added the pennants to a stick and added a couple of star brads...this is so much fun...because you can use up your scraps...and I love using up all the scraps that I accumulate.

  I found these unusual metal brads that said "Family" and I just had to pick them up...I'm happy to say that the stampin' ladies were lucky to be able to take home one as a freebie goodie...yeeeehhhh!!!...now they get to add it to a future page...it was a little heavy so I used my S/U mini glue dot to attach it...and it worked beautifully.

 I love using the glassine envies to add extra pics or written sentiments to my pages...this one has a large pennant in it...just waiting for me to add my hand written sentiment...on the outside...I added more pennants of course...this is what the class is all about...pennants...pennants and banners...I love that.

 Here I added a pennant onto a stick...lovely idea if I may say so myself...lol.

 Another pennant on a stick with a view of some of the banners cut from DSP...a pain to cut out since they're so small...but worth all the work when you see how pretty they look...I added bakers twine so that it looks as if the twine is holding up the banner...I outdo myself sometimes...ROTFLMFAO!...really!.
