After a grueling 12 hour shift...it was a fight for me to stay awake and finish this card...I knew that I had to KISS it (keep it simple silly) if I was going to get it done...I chose to do America's colours of red...white...and blue ...I love it...and I'm so happy I did a decent job of it...even though I was dead tired.

 

 

 

I was glad to have the Airmail bakers twine to add to my card...the twine really helped it to pop and make it look as good as it does...but I also love the one crystal on the mini tags...lol.

 

 

 

 

I hope you can see the detail in this pic...I used the spritzer tool with my cherry cobbler and brilliant blue stampin' write markers...I tried not to use too much since I had already sprayed it with my Sheer Sparkle Shimmer Spritz...this glitter spray is so glittery...care in using it on inks and printouts...it can cause smearing if you use too much...I'm running low on this glitter...I need to take a long road trip if I need to get more...LOL.

Happy Birthday America for a Challenge

Every once in a while ...I like to do two of the same cards...but each with a tiny bit of a different touch...I also had a tiny bit of gold metallic card stock left over from another project that I hated to waste...I was able to get just the two stars seen here from it.

 

 

 

I love using my embossing folders...they do so much for a card.

 

 

 

I was able to get my bling onto my cards...love bling.

 

 

 

 

What says summer more than a juicy delicious slice of watermelon...LOL.

 

This is my recipe:

 

Stamp sets: star spangled day and happy birthday America.

Card stock: whisper white...blue ballet...raspberry ripple...island indigo...real red...old olive...gold metallic...and white printer paper.

Ink: midnight muse and old olive.

*****

Markers: gelly roll clear glitter pen and stampin' write markers.

Punches: 1 1/4" and 3" scallop circles...1/16" hand held circle...small star...tag frame die...and distressed stripes folder.

Star Spangled Day is Kawaii

I know I say this all the time...but I can't help it...I love this card...and to top it off it's also Kawaii...LOL.

 

 

The stamp set I used...Star Spangled Day has been retired from Stampin' Up for many years...but it is one of my many favorites...and I'm always happy when I have a reason to use it. 

 

 

 If you look closely at the bottom of the card...I did a Zig Zag or Chevron design using my embossing folder...love the little watermelon...Totally Kawaii.

 

 

Adding the stars was a last minute touch...I had scraps left over and just couldn't throw them out since I could still get them to fit in the star punch...how many times have you hesitated at throwing out a scrap of Paper...especially DSP...LOL...I do all the time. 

 

 

 

 

This is the easy recipe:

 

Stamp set: star spangled day.

Card stock: whisper white...bashful blue...island indigo...blush blossom...real red...and white printer paper.

Ink: island indigo.

Markers: stampin' write.

Until this challenge I had forgotten all about this stamp...but had used it many...many times when I first got it...especially to make cards during 9-11...it was a special edition stamp from Stampin' Up and I remembered I just had to have it...glad that it was such a Fabulous purchase.

 

 

 

 

I like the stripes in the back ground...it makes it look like it was part of the flag...the punched out stars give the card plenty of dimension...I almost didn't raise a couple of the stars on the card...but sure glad I did now...'cause

Happy Memorial Day...and of course Challenges

 Happy Memorial Day to everyone...and a Big Shout Out and Thank you to all of Our Troops and their Families...you've all sacrificed a lot to keep us and our country safe...it seems like Thank You isn't enough.

I've made a couple of  cards...but I intentionally left out the sentiments...I haven't decided if I want to use them as thank or birthday cards yet...decisions...decisions...decisions...so tough to make a decision...lol. 

 

I was kickin' myself...because on this card I forgot to add the twine...and I just noticed it...too late to do anything about it now...but it's still a little cute...I'm really mad at myself for that.

 

 

This card is my fav...lol...but of course it is...because I remembered to add the twine...if I have time to tackle it...and it bothers me enough...I will take it apart and add the twine...love this red, white, and blue twine.

 

 

 

This is the easy recipe:

 

Card stock: real red...whisper white...naturals Ivory...brilliant blue...and crumb cake.

This project is a do over...I have never used these gift tags I made some time ago...so I redid them as Birthday Cards which I know that I will use...I love the look of them.

How about that Happy Mail stamp...I love it...I'm going to use it lots of times on my envelopes.

There is stars all over...inked stars...chalked stars...punched stars...I don't think I could've squeezed one more star onto my cards...lol...luvin' the stars I am.

This morning I walked the dogs at 5:30 and it was already 75 degrees...

They say it's Your Birthday...Challenges #CTD247 and MIM #146

I love these colours...so Americana...so Patriotic...I just had to jump into this challenge...and these are the cards I made to enter into the Color Thrown Down Challenge and for Make it Monday Challenge this week...I love how the cards turned out.

The Doliy Die from Stampin' Up is just fabulous...I will never have to buy another store bought doily to do a card or project again...and I will be able to make them in any colour my heart desires...with the doily below...I only punched out a few of the cutouts...it makes this doily look more solid.

As you can see...this doily looks more open...I punched out much more of the die cuts...giving the doily a more softer look I think.

Don't you just love banners...they do so much for a card or a layout...yes I do...I love the banners.

These dewdrops are called Golden Berry...they were just perfect for this project...the clear ones weren't really clear...they were more of a pearly colour...and the gold was just the perfect shade...not glittery or too shiny at all.
