Happy Brrrrrrday

Poor Carol had another horrible after class incident tonight...backing out of my driveway...she skidded and ended up in a snow bank that I swear was at least four feet high(no kiddin')...we spent two hours trying to dig her out to no avail...newspapers...cardboard...and cat litter did nothing but leave the driveway a mess...the snow was up to my knees and in my boots(brrrrrrr....)...I was afraid I'd end up under her tires...LOL....when she stepped on the gas trying to back out at maximum speed...nothing helped...finally she called her husband and he came and was able to tow her out...I want one of those hitches on my car...LOL...it took him 2 minutes to get her out...but I really believe we had done the hard part already...LOL...and we just need the brute strength to move it...thank God for Jim or else Carol would have had to spend the night...I guess we would have stamped all night...thanks again Jim...you did an awesome job...oh!!! by the way....LOL...the real funny part was...Jim wanted to know how come none of the other stampin' ladies didn't get stuck?...LOL...everyone else pulled out and was gone...LOL.

Heart Frame

I just love how these colours look together...Carol has me hooked on using the browns with all my cards and projects since she used it in class last week for her card...I like it when I find something to make using my scraps...I love this new heart punch that stampin' up introduced in the new 2009 catty...I think I will have to get the full heart punch also.

This is the quick recipe:

Stamp Sets: Lots of thoughts(retired).
*****
Card stock: close to cocoa...assorted scraps...and white printer paper.
*****
Inks: riding hood red.
*****
Chalks: stampin' pastels chocolate chip.
*****
Punches: heart to heart.
*****
Additional supplies: cuttle bug with love border folder...snail adhesive...rose red grosgrain ribbon...score-it board...and fiskar cutters.
*****

All supplies from stampin' up unless otherwise noted.

Inside the card I used white printer paper...in the corner I used the heart to heart punch to punch out some hearts next to the cuttle bug "with love' embossed sentiment...I then used the chocolate chip pastel with a q-tip to colour in the open hearts.

It is so cold outside and the snow is really coming down...I guess I will have to make more cards since I don't plan on going any where this morning...I will have to go out sooner or later to do some shoveling...but I don't want to think about that right now...thanks for stopping by and taking a peek at my card this morning...I hope everyone has a warm stampin' good day.

2009 Spring/Summer Catty

The new 2009 Spring/Summer catty is here...and again it's time to make my goodie list...you think Stampin' Up would make it difficult by adding ugly stuff...LOL.

I love this level 1 hostess set...it has a fav type of stamp of mine...the cuppy cake stamp.

Look at this set...a must have for all my masculine cards and projects.

I guess I must have this new baby stamp set also...love the little bib and the teddy bear...this would make wonderful projects for my new grand baby that will be arriving this spring.

My oh! my...check out the new Designer Series Papers...so many papers...so little time...LOL.

I must sit for this section...loads and loads of new BIG Shot dies and embossers...I love those new clear embossers...that's a must have...I need another page for my wish list...a really...really BIG page...LOL.

The new Spring/Summer catty has so much...I want it all...well I'm going to get a nice cup of hot tea and a warm comforter...and snuggle in bed with the catty...so much to look at...I might as well be comfortable...and I may just have a chocolate or two.

These boots are made for walking...

I didn't get any stamping done yesterday...like millions of people I was glued to the TV screen watching history being made...and waiting to see Michelle Obama's outfits...she was absolutely stunning...and the president didn't look to shabby either...I don't know how they endured that cold wind...it's a new beginning and all eyes are on President Obama...I wish him and his family good luck.

*****
I want to share a cute pic of my grand puppy Kenzo...this year seems to have bought more salt to the sidewalks of the city...and the salt was burning the pads of his paws...so my son-in-law bought him these really cool boots...LOL...but Kenzo doesn't think they are cool at all...he looks funny walking in them...I can't even explain the walk...almost like a giant spider...LOL...you still look great to me Kenny...and I'm happy your paws are protected...thanks for stopping by...I hope to have something to share tomorrow...have a stampin' good day.

Stars Box-in-a Bag

I do feel that this little poem is worth repeating and I love it.
Rosa sat...
So Martin could walk...
So that Obama could run...
So that our children and grandchildren can fly.
*****
God Bless America!
God bless our new president and vice president.
God bless change.
*****
Like many Americans today I will be glued to the TV screen...since I won't be able to make it to Washington, DC to see Barack Obama sworn in as our 44th president...but at least I will be warm and comfortable...and be able to share history with millions of other people...I wouldn't be able to take that biting cold and the wind.
*****
I made this cute little stars box-in-a-bag a while ago and I'd forgotten all about it...so I thought it would be great to post it today...I love the Americana paper and the red star ribbon.
